A New Year, A New Project

Here we go again... So what is this cutey doing parked alongside the Stealth Van?  It's another project for the new year.

Lets face it, gas is expensive.  The van, though spacious, is hardly a cheap daily commuter.  With weekly trips to Tangent Lodge our monthly fuel bill has topped $300.  Guess what, you can buy a car with the that kind of money.
So, beyond being our new grocery get'er, what are our plans for this economy rig? Can you say "TEARDROP"?  Yes, that's the plan. I will be retiring this coming year and need to make a trip to the East Coast.  No point paying hotel charges, I will be building a small Teardrop trailer to pull behind the Beetle. Of course normally this time of year we are up to our waist in snow. As you can see that hasn't happened... Yet. It's a bit too chilly to be interested in outdoor work, and there are plenty of other things that need doing so it will summer before I get started... Stay tuned.
Other changes are more or less behind the scenes. Due to recent changes made by the folks that have been publishing my blog entries, it's time to strike out completely on my own. You, the reader, won't notice much difference other than less ads and probably easier to read content. Change isn't all bad.

As with most of my projects, I'll be documenting construction of the teardrop trailer, and once I do hit the  road the same will be true of my voyage. Actually throughout the next couple years I hope to increase the quality and quantity of my entry's and expand the subject matter as well.
