It proved to short for me as I like to stretch out.  The current version is a twin sized down the drivers side of the van. I like the way you have your van so flexible that you can go back and forth between stealth and cargo modes in short order.  How you plan to use the van is definitely an important thing to consider.  Your post was really good food for thought.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I made all the stuff permanent in my van.  Due to that, it looks like I&amp;#39;m going to have to use a hitch and trailer to move cargo.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The only advantage I can see to going the permanent route is that it has given me the option to build and enhance without needing to accomodate a mode change.  Some of the creature comforts might night work to well to move in and out.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;As always, it&amp;#39;s really fun to see how others do things. Repairs or modifications will cost you a fortune if you have to pay to have everything done.  The best resource I have is my own mechanical background.  25 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. I hope the work on Tangent Lodge is coming along nicely despite the wet weather. I wonder how your experience has been working on the internals of the van itself. I imagine you have to become your own mechanic to some extent, or pay out the nose for impromptu repair out on &amp;quot;the road.&amp;quot; Have you done some work on it yourself? Beyond having it insulated, paneled, and painted all the furnishings have been put in storage while I reconstruct the Fannie Mae foreclosure cabin I recently bought.
